Professional basketball team, Dallas Mavericks are giving away $25 electronic gift cards to any customers that pay at their shop with Dogecoin or other crypto assets such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Bitcoin Cash. The owner of the Dallas Mavericks, billionaire investor Mark Cuban is a huge proponent of crypto assets and announced giving away e-gift cards, calling it Mavs Cryptomania.
Recently, Cuban stated that the Dallas Mavericks team was holding Dogecoin tokens after-sales. He added that the Maverick’s sales in Dogecoin had increased to 550pct in the past month, and the team sold more than 122k Dogecoins. Cuban made it clear that the Dogecoin holders would not sell a single token and encouraged others to buy Maverick’s merchandise from Dallasmavs.shop.
The Dallasmavs.shop is a web portal that uses Bitpay, a crypto payment processer that accepts all payments in cryptocurrencies. The online shop is designed to accept Bitcoin, Etheruem, Bitcoin Cash, Dogecoin, Paxos, Gemini Dollars, and more. According to Cuban, the online shop has announced ‘Mavs Cryptomania’, which gives $25 worth of gift cards to any customer that pays for Maverick’s merchandise in crypto assets as a reward.
The website rewards users with free gift cards for any purchase with cryptocurrencies. Customers will receive only one gift card per transaction, and it is required that they spend a minimum of $150 before tax and shipping. The promotion is only valid from August 13 till September 30, 2021.
Mark Cuban is an icon of Shark Tank and the owner of Dallas Mavericks. The billionaire investor is a huge supporter of crypto assets, especially the meme-inspired cryptocurrency Dogecoin. What started as an internet meme became a major cryptocurrency in the market thanks to Cuban’s endorsements and the frequent tweets of Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk.
Both Mark Cuban and Elon Musk claim that Dogecoin is the ‘strongest’ crypto asset for payments. Cuban himself has endorsed Dogecoin numerous times for most of 2021 and even announced that the Dallas Mavericks would accept Dogecoin payments. Earlier this year, Cuban advised the famous Talk show host, Ellen Degeneres, to buy Dogecoin.
Cuban has previously spoken on the benefits of Dogecoin, stating that the meme coin can only be used for spending or holding. In contrast to Cuban’s views, Benjamin Cowen of Intothecryptoverse, states that any altcoin can be used the same way, and Dogecoin is only special because of endorsements.
