Ethereum co-founder and lead developer, Vitalik Buterin has been listed as one of the most influential people of 2021 according to Time Magazine. The company has named Buterin in their list of 100 most influential people along with several world leaders, musicians, activists among others.
The long-running magazine company has become evidently became more accepting of the crypto space. In a previous report, Time Magazine had accepted Bitcoin into its business, since then the company has been reporting on crypto-based news. Earlier in March, the company revealed that they were looking to hire a chief financial officer who was familiar with Bitcoin and crypto space amidst the rising demand for crypto experts among firms. In the same month, Time auctioned 3 Non-fungible tokens that were inspired by some of their own magazine covers.
Time Magazine’s list consists of the likes of Prince Harry, singer and songwriter Billie Eilish, and an Olympic athlete Simone Biles. The Ethereum co-founder has been named among the most influential innovators for 2021 along with the CEO of Nvidia Jensen Huang, Tesla CEO, and the “Dogefather” himself Elon Musk among many others.
Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian spoke about the Ethereum co-founder and his contribution to the crypto space. Ohanian cited Buteirn’s role in launching the Etheurem Network back in 2015 to a market cap of more than $400 billion at the time. He also applauded Buterin’s works in encouraging the development of decentralized apps along with non-fungible tokens, or NFTs, in the crypto industry.
The Ethereum network is the second dominant crypto network in the industry. Due to the efforts of Buterin in the development of the network, Ethereum has established itself as the second leading crypto asset in the market behind bitcoin. Previous reports on the blockchain network show that the potential of Ethereum, and how it can surpass the leading crypto asset Bitcoin, is in the market eventually.
Buterin’s workings in the crypto space are what nominated him in Time Magazine’s list of 100 most influential people of 2021.
