Billionaire, philanthropist, and co-founder of Reddit Alexis Ohanian has recently stated that the majority of his investments are in Ethereum, not Dogecoin.
During an interview with CNBC, Ohanian frequently spoke in favour of Ethereum and endorsed the cryptocurrency. A major portion of the interview was dedicated to praising Ethereum, after which the Reddit co-founder revealed he had devoted a significant portion of his investments to cryptocurrencies, particularly in Ethereum.
When asked about his opinion on which cryptocurrency was most promising, Ohanian endorsed Ethereum over Dogecoin. The billionaire stated Dogecoin was not a priority and praised Ethereum stating it had the most potential out of two. Ohanian added that non-fungible tokens were just the start with Ethereum blockchain, and that is where the majority of his holdings were stored.
During the interview, Ohanian did not disclose the exact amount of Ethereum he was holding, nor did he provided an approximation. However, according to his registered Ethereum Service domain, he holds 1.16858 ETH, which is not quite what is expected from a billionaire.
While Ohanian continued to speak bullishly about Etehreum, he did not show that much support of the meme-inspired cryptocurrency Dogecoin. The billionaire investor clearly stated that Dogecoin was not on his list of favorite cryptocurrencies.
While the co-founder of Reddit prefers Ethereum over Dogecoin, the creator of Ethereum Vitalik Buterin stated in a podcast that Dogecoin was one of his favorite investments.
According to the young billionaire, Buterin made more than $30 million by successfully selling Dogecoin as it continued to rise above peoples expectations. With the prices increasing up to $0.70, Buterin stated he was quite surprised by the turn of events and by how well Dogecoin was actually performing.
Plenty of investors are dealing in Dogecoin, but have not indulged with Ethereum, a phenomenon Buterin stated he did not predict.
