Smart Contracts Are Coming To Cardano This Spring

Cardano has recently announced when they expect the Alonzo testnet to be up and running. Charles Hoskinson, the CEO, and founder of Cardano announced yesterday that this testnet that will bring smart contracts to the Cardano blockchain could go live as soon as April. He made these revelations in a Cardano360 virtual conference yesterday.

Charles claimed that the testnet would be ready for launch in late April or early May. In the past, Charles has often been too eager to predict when some of Cardano’s adaptations should be ready so we hope that this is not another one of those occasions.

“For the first time ever, publicly, people will be able to write smart contracts and deploy them on Cardano,”

The addition of smart contracts will mark a major milestone for its cryptocurrency as it continues its mission to be a viable alternative to Ethereum. Since last summer this market of Ethereum has been booming and soon Cardano will be able to build smart contracts on their network allowing for their coin to grow expediently.
