Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey and Tesla CEO Elon Musk have agreed to talk about important things at an upcoming Bitcoin event referred to as “The B Word”. Regardless of what your opinion is on these two men many are acknowledging that this has the potential to be at best a landmark for crypto and at the least have some influence on the crypto markets.
According to its corresponding website, the event is set to take place on the 21st of July. The event is going to be solely focused on Bitcoin and it also aims to “destigmatize” as well as “demystify” the most common narratives regarding said virtual currency. They might not be ideal candidates to do such practices so how they go about doing this will be of great interest. The event also seeks to elaborate on how financial institutions can begin acknowledging Bitcoin as a legitimate currency.
Jack Dorsey, the featured orator at the event, took to Twitter to promote the upcoming event on Thursday. He stated in the tweets that as an increasing number of companies and institutions get involved, everyone will want to join in to help support why the open development of Bitcoin is such a good idea, with the Twitter chief also adding that that day is going to be focused on learning how to do that.
Musk responded to Dorsey’s tweet, and both exchanged jokes about being “Bicurious”. Eventually, both ended up agreeing to have a discussion on Bitcoin. Many are looking forward to seeing Musk and Dorsey having an open discussion despite not knowing what they will speak about.
Cathie Wood, Ark Invest chief, who is also going to be a featured orator at the event tweeted in response to them, saying that she looks forward to being part of the upcoming discussion.
Both Dorsey and Wood believe that Bitcoin mining helps the environment. Musk, on the other hand, is of the opinion that that activity is harmful to the environment. Wood’s firm, Ark Invest, and Dorsey’s Square have also collectively released a report that argues that Bitcoin mining is, in fact, beneficial to the environment.
