Nigel Green, the CEO, and founder of DeVere Group, one of the largest independent financial advisory organizations, has recently stated that if the price of Ethereum continues to appreciate, it will surpass the price of Bitcoin in 2021.
The chief executive of deVere Group spoke bullishly on the rise of Ethereum, stating the cryptocurrency was unstoppable on its rise to be the top digital asset in the market and surpass Bitcoin. Nigel Green believes the value of Ethereum will surely exceed the value of Bitcoin in five years or even shorter time.
Ethereum has been outperforming Bitcoin in the past few months. While Ethereum has gained more than 300% this year, the leading digital asset Bitcoin has merely gained up to 55% by comparison. According to Green, who bullishly claimed that Ethereum has outperformed a majority of all other digital assets in the first half of the year. Since Ethereum has been exceeding the dominant crypto asset, the chief executive of deVere Group expects Ethereum to continue outperforming Bitcoin and other digital assets for the remainder of this year.
Being a respected analyst, Nigel Green has attributed two key factors to the stellar performance of Ethereum this year. Ethereum’s transition to ETH 2.0 is one of the key factors that boost the overall crypto asset’s rise. Green considers the transition to Ethereum 2.0 as a “game-changer” that investors are enthusiastic about since it represents a major upgrade not just for the cryptocurrency but the overall blockchain technology as well.
Green attributed Ethereum’s high level of real-use potential as its biggest triumph. Ethereum surpasses Bitcoin due to the potential of its use cases, which Green stated makes the former the most in-demand development platform for smart contracts.
Ultimately, Green highlighted that the network’s value as a platform for developers and as a financial utility, coupled with the transition to ETH 2.0 is what will cause Ethereum to exceed Bitcoin as the leading cryptocurrency in the market within five years.
In contrast to Green’s bullish statements about Ethereum, the founder of deVere Group was not as bearish as it seemed. Green remained confident that Bitcoin will hit or even surpass its April all-time high of $65k by the end of the year or perhaps sooner. He did mention that Ethereum’s rise to the top of the crypto space was inevitable and seemingly unstoppable.
