Joseph Maldonado, also known as Joe Exotic from the Netflix series Tiger King has recently announced he is launching his very own cryptocurrency called Tiger King or TKING on his official Twitter account.
Joe Exotic, famously known as the Tiger King, is well known for his Netflix documentary series Tiger King. The documentary aired on Netflix early in 2020 and followed the story of Joe Exotic, where Exotic was portrayed as the eccentric owner of an exotic animal park, housing several kinds of wild tigers.
Joe Exotic, formerly went by Joseph Allen Maldonado, has been incarcerated and sentenced to 22 years in prison for hiring an unknown assailant to murder Carole Baskin, the co-star of the television series.
However, imprisonment has not stopped the Tiger King, as he has continued with his fame and now intends to get involved within the crypto industry.
According to the official tiger-king website, Joe Exotic’s Tiger King Tokens can be used to pay for his prison bill, and also stated that Exotic plans to use TKING tokens as funding for cancer treatment.
The launch of Tiger King came weeks after Exotic’s biggest enemy Carole Baskin launched her own digital asset, Cat coin (CAT). Baskin, the co-star of the documentary series, stated Cat coin funding was aimed at conserving wildlife at Big Cat Rescue.
Bitcoin.com had previously reported on Baskin’s cryptocurrency donations for Big Cat Rescue last year. According to the reports, Carole Baskin opened a donation center for digital assets, accepting Bitcoins for the wildlife reserve.
Both Exotic and Baskin are set to launch non-fungible tokens in the future. According to tiger king’s official webpage, TKING tokens are expected to be launched in June. Currently, TKING is trading on the decentralized exchange Uniswap and has traded $187,200 in just 23 hours.
